About
I'm Jai An. I've spent my career building companies — first the old way, now the new way.
The old way: I was CEO and co-founder of TrustToken, the company behind TrueUSD and TrueFi, backed by a16z, Founders Fund, Jump Capital, and Stanford.
I've hired over a hundred people across every function — directors and executives from Airbnb, Microsoft, SEC, Google, Nest, DoorDash, and Lyft. I know what it costs to build a world-class team, because I paid for it: in dollars, in recruiting cycles, in years of management overhead.
The new way: today I'm building Deva and Bitplanet — an AI-native platform — with a fraction of that headcount. Instead of managing an org chart, I manage fleets of AI agents. The job looks less like a traditional CEO and more like a fund manager: allocating capital and attention across a portfolio of agents, each running a different part of the business. More leverage at a fraction of the cost, and it compounds every quarter.
The full argument for where it lands is in the forthcoming New Economy (neweco.ai).
